Being a racially mixed church, the members of CCC are especially passionate about reconciliation. Although reconciliation involves many areas of life, the racial issue in America is a hot topic and a continuing source of unrest and conflict, so racial reconciliation is the centerpiece of this ministry. The concept of reconciliation started with Jesus Christ himself and he has passed that ministry along to us (2 Corinthians 5:16-21). We feel a burden and a special call to help fulfill this ministry and Stand in the Gap with others who feel this burden and special calling (Ezekiel 22:30).
One of the main ways we accomplish this is in worshipping together on Sunday morning, which has been referred to as “the most segregated hour in America”. Christ Community Church is a charter congregation of the Office of Reconciliation Ministry (ORM) www.atimetoreconcile.org. ORM has an international office that includes 23-chapters in 5-countries: U.S.A., Ireland, England, South Africa and Canada.
